After the conflict has lasted for more than two years, cancer
defeated at the young Catalan coach Tito Vilanova, and deprived him of the
completion of his career with football and life at the age of 45 years.
Tito died quietly and without noise, just as he was attended
by as lived and as it was his character as a player and coach.
Tito quiet life changed since November 2011, where he had to
show a side of combat and heroic in his character during his battle with throat
cancer.
Vilanova was born in Girona on Sept. 17, 1968 into a family
of middle-class, and his father Joaquim was the mayor of the city which had a
population of just over 600 people and that between 1991 and 2003.
He joined to "La Masia" School junior's FC
Barcelona at the age of 14, and there he knew Pep Guardiola and they formed a
strong friendship, stretched even led together the best team in the history of
the club.
He was known for his positive personality, and was more
inter repeated, "Everything will be fine", and he loves the music and
the quiet life and cuisine prepared by his mother in law.
Tito married from Montse Chaure graphic designer in 1992,
and the couple had "Carlotta" which is currently studying the science
of company’s management, and "Adria", which plays in the youth sector
of Barca, is likely to be a future star in the same club.
Although he began his career as a teenager for Barca, but he
was forced to break into other clubs away from the borders of the Camp Nou,
where he played for teams Figueres and Celta Vigo and Mallorca and Badajoz and
Lleida and Elche and Gramenet.
Tito was forced to retire from playing in 2002 because of
problems with the knee, and in 2003 began his career as a coach in the youth
sectors of Barcelona, who returned to it after a long absence, and included
even arrived to the first team as an assistant to Guardiola starting from the
2007-2008 season.
Vilanova lived his best on the bench of Barca and achieved
fame with his friend Guardiola by
crowning all domestic leagues,
continental and global, he then took the
lead in the April 27, 2012, when Guardiola decided a comfort for a year and
isolation in the United States before accepting training Bayern Munich.
Pressures that were thrown on Tito shoulders while became
the first coach of the team coincided with the discovery by accident throat
tumor months earlier, specifically in the November 21, 2011, during the medical
examination on the ears.
In December 2012 it was the official announcement of the
disease, though the Group continued his career in La Liga and achieved better
results in the second round (18 wins and one draw) to be crowned the title,
tying the record for Real Madrid in the previous season with Coach Jose
Mourinho to end the tournament with 100 points.
Tito was forced to travel to New York on a medical trip, and
left his post temporarily to his assistant Jordi Rora, but returned in April
2013.
Tito fought the disease until the end of the season, then he
agreed with the club officials to end their cooperation for full-time to his
battle with cancer, and officially bid farewell to Barcelona on July 20 last
year.
Tito wrote in his farewell to the club and the fans in a
brief statement: "This is a difficult moment for me, so I ask the media to
respect and understand, I left Barca training in order to earn any tranquility
and privacy that I need and I have my family in those circumstances."
From then Vilanova disappeared from sight, but remained
present in the hearts of fans of Barca and even opponents who have supported
and backing him in his ordeal, and well-wishers, hoping to repeat the miracle
of former player Frenchman Eric Abidal, who suffered from the same disease
conditions with liver cancer, and managed to return and play offline with
Monaco.
The name of Vilanova was missed for newspapers, but rarely did
when photos are taken in secret to him fill the center of the Camp Nou, where
his team was keen to encourage in some occasions from inside the stadium,
despite his labor, as he was attending his son Adria some games.
Vilanova biography returned to newspapers and the media in
the last few hours to announce he was hospitalized in critical condition on
Friday, and conduct emergency surgery, before announcing his family and his
club news of the tragic day death, to go quietly as he lived quietly, and keep
